This is our first peek inside the cabin of Jaguar's upcoming F-Pace crossover ahead of its world debut at the Frankfurt motor show in September.
Whereas the exterior of Jaguar's first SUV remains faithful to the C-X17 concept car from the Frankfurt motor show in 2013, the interior design is far less dramatic and is much closer to Jaguar's production XE executive compact sedan. In fact, from this angle, the dashboard styling, layout and switchgear look identical to the XE.
One thing we noticed on this tester besides Jaguar Land Rover’s latest-generation InControl touchscreen multimedia system on the center console is the manual gearbox shifter.
Apparently, while higher-performance models will be offered with Jaguar's eight-speed automatic, entry- and perhaps, mid-level engines such as the 2.0-liter turbo diesel fitted on this prototype will feature a manual gearbox option – just like the new XE.
Together with the Ingenium 2.0-liter turbo diesels delivering up to 200PS (197hp) and 2.0-liter petrols with up to 240PS (237hp), the F-Pace's range will also include a 3.0-liter supercharged petrol V6 with 340hp and 436Nm (32 lb-ft) of torque. A top-end 5.0-liter supercharged V8 could come into the picture later on.
With the new F-Pace, Jaguar will target the entire luxury compact SUV segment, from the sportier Porsche Macan and BMW X4 to the more conventional Mercedes GLK and Audi Q5.
